All classes begin with a warm up and stretching routine. You will be gradually introduced to the basic techniques like the stance, footwork, basic punches, kicks, knees and elbows and how to defend yourself from these. You will train to build up the foundation of cardiovascular fitness and body strength needed for Muay Thai. The trainer will guide you through rounds of pad work, heavy bags, sit ups and push ups among other execises. Every class ends with a cool down and stretching. 

Although Muay Thai is a contact sport, safety is the instructors main concern at all times, so you will be trained to fight in a safe structured program. Learn to fight  using traditional Muay Thai with the guidance and help of martial arts instructors and certified personal trainers; more importantly, learn from them how not to fight! Sparring will come with time! 


  • Duration of class is 1 hour
  • Wear a pair of loose-fitting shorts and a t-shirt. You can consider buying equipment as you move along. 
  • You will train barefoot. 
  • Bring a mouthguard. 
  • Instructors will work with each student to help them progress at their own level and speed.
FAQ

What is Muay Thai? 
A fighting art that descended from Muay Boran. It originated in Siam (Thailand now) 2000 years ago. It combines techniques such as as; kicks, knees, elbows, punches, and clinch work. 

Are Muay Thai and kickboxing the same?
No. Kickboxing was invented in the 20th century and it originated mostly from Japan and America. Muay Thai as explained above is centuries old. 

I don't want to be a fighter, but can I do this to get in shape?
Practicing Muay Thai is a physically demanding striking art. With constant training you can melt fat and gain muscle.  

Will I have to spar/fight? 
No. It is up to you! Some students choose not to fight because they are only here to improve their general fitness. Others work to achieve their Khans (Grades) which in turn builds up the knowledge of the art. 

I'm not in shape, can I still do this?
Everyone has to start somewhere. Instructors will always keep you motivated and help you to improve.
