Shelling Trip, Marco Island, FL
Experience ID: 427
Shelling is a pastime that everyone has enjoyed at some point in their lives. This offers a chance to revisit that glorious childhood where you once clambered over the rocks at the beach and searched in the sand for shiny, beautiful rocks. Now you get to do that but in exclusivity, no other masshoarders and searchers to contend with. This allows you to go to exclusive & remote beaches that have not been picked over already. Leaving you with untouched treasure to discover. The beaches of the 10,000 islands are all yours to explore. Out of the reaches of the public and accessible only by boat, your own shell paradise.
While good shelling can be about being in the right place at the right time, knowing where and when is right, is extremely important. Good shell collectors don't rely on luck. Learn the nuances of tide, winds and locations that affect shelling, as well as, the information about the life cycle and habitat of different species. Go shelling in beautiful locations as your guide helps to improve your shelling knowledge. Your guide has knowledge to share along with a knack for finding the Gulf Coast's most prized shell treasure, the Junonia.
